i wanted to like this more than i did, lots of reputable craft companies making a dad beer type lager these days, even dressed up in vintage yellow beer looking cans, but most of them are still pretty crafty beers in my experience, still objectively way better than what they are pretending to be ironically enough, but this is not one of those, the beer is also slightly inferior, especially next to most of the rest of their portfolio, weird to dumb this down and apparently cheapen it up so much, it tastes like an adjunct light lager, i was hoping for cleaner and brighter and more flavorful and better, so this didnt do much for me, even in a beachy context, it just felt too thin, tasted too minimal, and left a bit to be desired overall, especially because i know what these guys can do. to me this smells slightly plastic, maybe a little bit of a hop thing, but very little from the grain and not tidy on the lagering to me, european on the yeast maybe but watered down. the mellower carbonation for this was not a great choice either, and this ended up being a bit of a miss for me. the target audience doesnt seem like the craft drinker wanting a throwback lager, despite the branding, it seems like an undiscerning someone who wants what appears to be cheap yellow beer, very little crafty vibe here or attention to detail, you can taste some yeast yeah, but thats not enough for me in this instance...

A light straw golden body is as clear as a cloudless sky, and tiny bubbles race from bottom to top to support patches of snow white capped peaks. Specks plaster the glass from head to toe.
Freshly crushed grain and dried grass make up most of the aroma. A faint honey drizzled biscuits lies beneath.
The flavor mimics the aroma, but with the grassiness well subdued. Mostly a cereal grain sweetness, but not obnoxious by any means.
This is a crisp as a beer can get. Clean and fresh feeling, with a popping and dry carbonation. A very easy drinking beer.
For $2 a 19.2 oz can, I'm sold. It's hot as hell right now, and this quenches the thirst. Cheers.

Clear gold with one finger of white head. Nice coating dense fine bubble lace.
Smell is white bread malt.
Taste is bready malt with a tiny hop bitterness. Well balanced.
Mouthfeel is light with lively carbonation. The finish is lightly dry and mildly bitter.
Overall a tasty and refreshing American Pale Lager.

6 pack bought from Habits tobacco and beer shop. $6.99 So Gilgamesh is the latest PNW brewer to get in on the cheap and cheerful lager train! Packaging very nice . Pours a pale yellow but the head is pretty thick and persists. Aroma of paper and hay.. tiny citrus hop in there also. Balanced flavour..hay, corn and hop..very bright. Mouth feel typical for style thin and well carbonated. Nice clean American lager.
