Brewed to 4.5% with 24 IBUs, Summer Sunset Session Ale is brewed with Perle and Chinook hops and lemon and Pilsen and Canadian two-row barley.
“This dockside companion is made with lemon zest for a dash of citrus flavour. Pilsen malt balances the medium hop character. Wash away the heat with this delicious summer treat,” writes Lake of Bays Brewing.

Can: Poured a light golden color ale with a nice large foamy head with good retention. Aroma of light cereal notes with some dry citrusy hops notes. Taste is also a mix of dry citrusy hops with light cereal notes and a dry finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but lacking some undertones and some refreshing notes.

473 ml can served cold into a Mill Street pint glass. Purchased from the LCBO for about $2.75 CDN. This beer is labelled as Wild North Series Summer Sunset Session Ale, but the similarities are striking.
Appearance - Not sure if this is an amber, pours a pale golden colored beer with cloudy features and above average carbonation. Not a huge white head, but close to a finger's worth. Not much in the way of lacing either but better than expected head retention.
Smell - Light and floral with just a pinch of citrus notes. Maybe some lemon and something sweet, perhaps cantaloupe Flowery with a powdery yeast and grain aspect too. Whatever the classification, the nose is quite good.
Taste - Fairly heavy grain, here's where the resemblance to an amber ale kicks in. Some faint sweetness and just a bit of lemon zest, quite refreshing while being flavorful too. Just enough bitterness to make this truly refreshing on a hot May day.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and light bodied, with crisp carbonation and slightly drying finish.
Overall - Wild North Summer Sunset is brewed by Lake of Bays. Nothing against Lake of Bays, but they're definitely not my favorite Ontario craft brewer, but this is refined, fresh and crisp and packed with flavor. Nailed this one ans I'm bound to return to this again through the remainder of spring and into the summer.
