Body like apricot jam, orangey-amber and muddy; egg white head is not huge but dense with good retention.
Aroma of sweet dried fruit (apricot), with a touch of spruce, stone fruit jam.
First taste is of caramel malt, sweet & rich, before the pine hop bitterness kicks in, full throttle and providing balance - thought the pithy bitterness lingers aggressively, dry and quenching; medium body and carbonation, mouthfeel is full, silky, syrupy.
Very well crafted, love the feel on the palate; malt notes are pleasant, but hop flavour could be better, less pithy.

Lightly veiled orange appearance, with a good off-white foam.
Classic, fresh smell, some resinous notes, some grapefruit. Classic, but well done.
Same for the taste, fresh, bitter, quite dry. Malt, not too much, and almost no caramel.
Quite long bitter aftertaste.
Drinkable and well done.

cereal and caramel flavors with a hoppy finish. The malt taste is much stronger than the hop.

Poured from a can batch 1123 into a tulip glass. pours gold amber with light sedimentation. subtle nose of citrus peep over baked bread. Easily drinkable with good balance of hops bitter. Overall a nice find from an Ontario craft brewer.

Honey golden and cloudy, with almost no carbonation, and 2 fingers of yellowish head.
Smells of creme brulee, pineapple and pine.
Tastes of a huge pineapple, an array of fresh fruits in a tropical punch, pine and creme brulee.
Medium body, and moderate carbonation.
Really liking the array of fresh, tropical fruity flavours, balanced with grapefruit pith bitterness. Drinking it in Ontario, Nov 29th, 2017.

Pale straw yellow with a creamy head good lacing and lots active carbonation. Aroma: citrusy, herbal. Flavour honey, some tropical fruit, piney bitterness. The bitterness dominates the finish without overwhelming the malt. Decent length and mouth feel.

I liked the look of this beer; nice amber/orange colour & fluffy head, but the taste didn't live up to what I'm looking for in an "American IPA". As has happened to me before, this winds up tasting more like an English bitter, with just a touch of hop in the flavour. Instead the malt dominates, with some great smooth bready and sweet caramel flavours with decent full mouthfeel & carbonation. This tastes like it might go great with some fish & chips, but when I want a good IPA I want to have it alone & enjoy the hops as they provide all the taste I can handle.

Malty, English style IPA. Thinnish body. Some hop aroma. Not so drinkable. LCBO find. Slight reddish tinge. Like tasting a live ox tongue, I guess.

Pours copper orange with a chunky, long lasting head that drapes the glass in foam. The aroma is malty with caramel, chocolate malt and cookie dough mingling with citrusy hops. Lemon, grass and herbal hop notes in the taste, balanced out by a sturdy maltiness. English fruity yeast esters in there too. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a low key carbonation. Light bitterness and a toasty malt character linger in the finish.
A nice IPA that strike me as more of an English version. It's very balanced and restrained in the hop department. Still very enjoyable. Worth a try.

Lake of Bays Brewing Company's Oxtongue India Pale Ale. 4.7% alc., brewed in Baysville, Ontario.
473 ml can. 65 IBUs. Hops: Centennial, Magnum, and Pekko.
The beer has a thick off-white head and the colour of the body is dark golden.
The smell is pine, very faint citrus, and white bread. All very delicate.
The taste is pine, citrus, white bread, and barley malt - all sort of moderate. The can says a deep malt flavour but I disagree. The malt is present for sure, but it's not deep.
The body is medium. The finish is smooth and kind of wet.
I enjoyed this. I've had other beers by this company and they were all well done.
