This one pours a golden and dark-ish orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like very tart green apple-ish flavor, some spice, old and kinda funky stale lemon peel, and white wine.
I’m not sure why Hill Farmstead continues to insist on using crabapples – maybe there’s a way to use them well in beer, but neither this nor the legendarily yucky CD Crabapple accomplishes much for me. It’s just kinda green apple-y, and too sour.
This is not all that drinkable, with a long tart finish, and a lower level of carbonation.
This is certainly near the bottom for this series.

375ml bottle poured into a Torst wine glass.
A~ light orange with a tiny head and no lacing. kind of looks like tang.
S~ lots of red wine barrel funk along with some barnyard brett up front. slight citrus follows with some burnt oranges and a little cherry.
T~ follows the nose, i get a little apple here but more in the feel. even more wine barrel funk here and surprisingly getting a lot of cherry on the back end.
M~ smooth, extremely refreshing with a feeling like you just ate an apple.
O~ so far my favorite of the series for sure! even though i've probably said that before this time i mean it haha! i really loved the cherry like funk!

Bottle poured into fluted snifter.
5 from LOG series sampled back to back by chronological order.
This iteration pours hazy yellow with a thin white head. Head quickly settles into a tiny collar around the glass with minimal lacing.
Aroma is tartness, sweet and tart apples and rich earthy oak.
Flavor is similar to the aroma. Get sweetness and earth from the apples and barrel, but an underlying tartness and tart green apple flavor balances things out.
Moderate carbonation and medium body. Coats the tongue a tiny bit.
Flavor similar to a complex and barrel aged fresh apple juice.

375 mL bottle. Lightly hazy golden yellow. Smells of oak, apples, a bit of sweetness, and some acidity. Tastes of sour apples, grain, and yeasty. Nice tartness and oak in the back end. Light and crisp. Everyone else at the tasting thought this was just juice, but I think it’s a nice balance.
