750ml bottle, Brew Date August 9, 2016, poured into a Hill Farmstead etched Rona glass.
The beer pours a hazy orange color, golden and light amber hues with a fizzy white head that has moderate retention and few spots of sticky lacing. The aroma is very nice, quite funky, excellent wine barrel character, oaky, vinous, raw honey like sweetness, very floral with some nice citrus peel and bright fruitiness. The flavors are excellent, doughy pale malt, soft oak, buggy house cultures that are fruity and floral, light pitted stone fruits with some citrus peel and a mineral water heavy finish. The moutfeel is good, coating medium body, lively and zippy texture, ample carbonation and a tart and dry finish.
Verdict: An excellent Farmstead Ale from Hill Farmstead and Tim Clifford. Excellent complexity and nuance to this beer, wonderfully balanced and bright. The wine barrel character is front and center and really brings out a number of underlying elements to this beer that work in great harmony.

Wow. I think this was the best beer on tap at FoFA 2018 and that is really saying something. I enjoyed all four Residency beers, but this one blew me away. Absolute perfection. Don't miss this when it comes to the tasting room.
