750ml bottle, brewed on August 17, 2016, poured into a Hill Farmstead etched Rona wine glass.
The beer pours a hazy and turbid orange color, honey and amber hues with a foamy finger of white head that has great retention and lacing. The aroma is fantastic, super funky, very earthy and floral, excellent oak barrel, acidic grape and tangy citrus peel, tart orange juice with a soft doughy base and mineral water. The flavors are excellent, very funky, dry leaves, aged hop, oak barrel, vinous grape, loads of citrus juice and grapefruit peel with some mineral water and a nice cereal base. The mouthfeel is great, lively and crisp, coating and delicate with a tart and dry finish.
Verdict: An excellent saison from Tim and Hill Farmstead. Citrusy, funky with excellent barrel character and an incredible balance.
