In our ongoing exploration of new and experimental hop varieties, we offer Excursions: Idaho 7, developed by Jackson Hop Farm in Wilder, Idaho. Highlighted by tropical fruit and citrus (apricot, orange, red grapefruit, papaya) with notes of resiny pine and hints of black tea.

Growler thanks to rudzud
Pours with a big fluffy foamy semi dense head with good retention and nice lacing, mostly hazy medium orange color
Nose pretty nice, some juicy grapefruit, tons of tangerine and some orange, but also a big resin and pine sap like, also earthy and a little spicy, light cracker malt
Taste big juicy citrus, tangerine and some grapefruit pith, fair amount of pith and some rind, little juicy orange cream, a bit spicy with a touch of dank pine and some earthy notes but less than the nose, light cracker and creamy malt, medium bitterness, light tropical notes, a touch of herbal tea late with more earthy notes, drier finish long bitter rind and pith lingering
Mouth is med bod, a touch creamy medium carb
Overall pretty nice, not great but seemed to work well

Picked up a growler of this at the brewery.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice lightly hazy golden hue with a thin white head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket.
S - Big aromas of bright resinous hops along with really fresh citrus peel, grapefruit, tangerine. Big earthy notes, slightly spicy pine.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice almost bubblegum sweetness. Good lighter pine, slightly spicy, good citrus peel and zest without being aggressively bitter. Just slightly juicy on the finish.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, good body, good body.
O - Overall this was a solid enough ipa, almost pale ale like. Nice easy drinking hops, pleasant spicy earthy citrus.
