This is the the non barrel-aged version of Genealogy of Morals, conditioned in stainless steel. Dark, rich and smooth, it’s complex flavors belie the singular vision with which we create it—echoing the work the inspires it. For this selection of Genealogy, our stainless-conditioned coffee imperial stout (the base beer for Genealogy of Morals), we have conditioned the beer atop Kieni from Nyeri, Kenya, sourced and roasted by The Coffee Collective in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Growler: Poured a black color ale with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of dry coffee notes with some bitterness is enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of dry and somewhat bitter coffee notes with light acidity and roasted malt notes also discernible. Body is pretty full with good carbonation. Enjoyable but coffee was a tad too acidic/bitter for my taste.

Picked up at the brewery and shared with JLindros.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark brown almost black with a thin mocha head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin blanket.
S - Aromas of rich bakers chocolate, good deep cocoa as well followed by more pleasant and roasty coffee. Very fruity coffee beans.
T - Taste is similar to the nose with nice dark bakers chocolate and subtle char, the fruitiness of the chocolate is pleasant and pairs nicely with the fruitiness of the coffee. Good roast coffee with lovely subtle bitterness.
M - Mouthfeel is nicely creamy, alcohol hidden well with good bitterness.
O - Overall this was a solid enough stout, really pleasant coffee notes. Lovely Hill Farmstead stout.

Growler thanks to rudzud, filled Oct 5th
Pours a large mocha colored foamy thick frothy head with great retention, good foamy lacing, decent legs, pitch black thick beer
Nose nutty and dark chocolate cocoa, a little roast, hint of peppery phenol alcohol notes but light, toasted walnut thing, fresh roasted coffee and a touch of fudge with a fruity almost nutty coffee
Taste mild sweet dark malts, some roast and dark chocolate cocoa, creamy fudge notes, fair bitterness with little spicy hop and roasted malt, some roasted coffee, and a touch fruity again, turning to a fair fruity coffee bean, touch of charred roast but not much, quite nutty overall, finishes a bit sticky and a little dry with medium bitterness and a touch spicy
Mouth is med to fuller bod, medium carb, creamy lush with mostly hidden alcohol
Overall pretty solid, nice coffee character, not incredible but good
