Poured from a pint can, the body pours a light gold with foamy white head. After chill is off, most of the haze clears. Light, spotty lacing.

Nose is an enticing citrus mix of lemon and lime.

Taste follows nose but the hop flavor is subdued by the malt bill. No sign of the ABV. Upon swallow there is a brief light bitterness that quickly dries up.

Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation.

A couple pints on tap at Sabatinis in Exeter pa earlier this evening.

Excellent looking beer. Hazy pale orange body, bright white head, dripping rings of lacing. Hoppy aroma with a hint of citrus. On tasting, full, hoppy, clean, extremely well balanced. Finish also full, clean, and lasting. Just a simply delicious drink, hit these taste buds just right.

This is a great New Zealand hop DIPA. The Motueka offers all the expected aromas but there is also a nice bitterness that compliments the aromas and that is a great sign of an IPA (whether hazy or not).

16oz can dated 9/5/23.

Pours hazy gold with an inch of white head. Moderate retention and lacing. Mint-rubbed melons with zesty undertones in the nose. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Spicy and earthy on the palate with minimal malt or bitterness. A bit peppery and piney. Finishes earthy and grassy.

This one pours a fairly hazy golden yellow, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like slightly funky lime, grassy hops, lemon rind, grapefruit pith, and juicy pineapple.

The various Double but single hop beers from Hill Farmstead are some of the best IPAs in the world, and this beer is no exception to that rule. It might not be quite as good as perhaps the best IPA ever, Double Galaxy, but it’s still extremely pleasant and very enjoyable. There’s lots of typical bracing tropical fruit and lime character I always get out of Motueka, with lemon, pineapple, and melon, with a light but present bitterness.

This is very light and pillowy for the style – not thin, but just drinks so easy for a DIPA.

I think, amongst this series, I’d rank them – Double Galaxy > Double Nelson > Double Motueka > Double Riwaka > Double Citra. All of them are great, though.
