Appearance is straight black covered by a light tan head with great retention. Aroma is heavy on the roasted dark malts, also bready and showing a bit of bittersweet cocoa. Simple but very nice.
Flavor opens pretty smooth – bready with cocoa. Not much hop influence. Finish is slightly bitter and heavy on the roasted malt flavor and slightly dry. After a second pint, coffee and cream and bittersweet chocolate become my main descriptors.
Feel is soft with moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty light stout on the palate.
Great beer. All about the malts and simple in a great way. A beer you can have 3 or 4 of if you enjoy stouts.
