I really enjoyed this brewer's wares at Savor '09, and rued the fact that they didn't attend Savor '10. Therefore I felt compelled to dig out the scribbled notes and at least show some love on BA.
Poured black with an oatmeal-colored head, modest retention and good lacing. Big coffee nose, with hints of earthiness, dark chocolate, and fig. The flavor was nicely balanced, dominated by the coffee tones, and finishing on a semi-dry note. Not too harsh hint of alcohol in the finish. The feel may have been the best part; velvety smooth with no carbonation, and a not-too-thick full body. Good for sipping. My only recommendation would be to kick up the balance in the flavor a tad.
