Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a light brown color with a thin tan foamy head that dissipated fairly quick to leave no lace. The aroma had some roastiness, nuts, light coffee and a subtle cocoa powder. The flavor leaned to the sweet side and then developed some bitterness from the coffee. Slight cocoa to coffee sort of aftertaste running into the same sort of finish. The feel was about medium bodied, perhaps just a tad under. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt fine. Overall, nice to have tried when I had this chance.

Appearance: Pours a nice clear hazelnut color with 1/2" of light khaki head. Decent retention and lacing. 4
Smell: Very nutty smell. Sweet brown malts and light coffee as well. Light amount of florals on back end. 4
Taste: Brown/chocolate malts, nuttiness, light coffee, with florals on the back end. Great malty flavor, with some hop character to balance. Solid, and very enjoyable.
Mouthfeel/Overall: Light-medium body, with fairly low carbonation. Smooth. Overall, a good brown ale. Good malt flavor in particular, and extremely drinkable. This is one of my most under-appreciated styles, and I've had some good ones lately from Montana. This one continues that trend. A bit more hop character wouldn't hurt this beer, but it's still very good.
