Mixed fermentation sour red ale aged in barrels for up to 12 months. Medium body and malt character with hints of tart cherry and plum. Rich fruity aroma reminiscent of Burgandy wine.

Poured from 16.9oz bottle into glass. Stamped bottling date of '02/01/18'.
Amber brown colored body with a touch of red. Fizzy head quickly disappears, but there is a bubble fed thin ring. No lacing.
Red wine aroma with oak, also some cherry. Brown aroma of slightly sweet brown sugar.
Quite sour taste with red wine, cherry, and raspberry aspects. Oak barrel is evident. Has a definite sweet sugar component.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Quite dry, but the sweet fruit and sugar note does linger awhile.
Label is a total reference to the Grateful Dead's "Touch Of Gray". Tasty oaky sour with the dark red fruits.

Aged 18 months and poured into tulip:

L: murky brown with faint red taint along with a very thin bubbly head

S: mild presence of sour cherries

F: kettle sour

T: pure deliciousness with super sour cranberries, sour cherries, and sour grape kettleness

O: man this is sour. Not sure how this is fresh but aged 18 months its perfect. Also huge Dead Head so yeah the name and label art sold me from beginning. Either way highly recommended.

A bottle that's been in my fridge for awhile with a date that appears to read 5/09/16. Let's pour it in a wine glass and see how it held up?

Look- Pours a light brown with a slight red tint revealing a couple centimeters of light tan foam that quickly settles to rim the glass. There is a little lacing left behind.

Smell- Sour cherries, cotton candy, hay and mild band aid.

Taste- Tart cherry, musty wood and sour candy.

Feel- Thin and slightly effervescent on the tongue with a dry finish.

Overall- I have no idea how this tasted fresh, but I'd say it's held up well over time. A Chardonnay-like quality with the feel of a sparking wine makes this really easy to drink. Just a kiss of tartness that keeps you craving the next sip. Nothing too complex, just a very good beer worth checking out.

Amber in color with a hazy complexion. There's a fingernail of beige around half of the rim. Aroma is of very tart cherries from the Brettanomyces. The flavor is a touch less mellower than the aroma would imply. There's still plenty of Brettanomyces coming through as tart cherries along with some dark malt. The mouth is heavily carbonated and dry.

Thanks to Superspak for this one, from his NBS BIF#4 box. 16oz bottle poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a lightly hazy brownish red color with a half-inch of off-white head that quickly dissipated to just a ring, and left no appreciable lacing.

A nicely tart scent burst forth as soon as I uncapped the bottle. On closer sniffing, there was a bit of a wine-ish fruit scent, and very light base grains. On the tongue, it was very similar, although what smelled like wine tasted more like cherries. I have o idea if any fruit was used in the beer as there's no info on the label.

The body was medium, smooth, and had a dry finish that let the tartness linger for a bit. Drinkability was good, I probably wouldn't drink two bottles in a row, but I wouldn't mind having a few bottles on the shelf. Overall, a very nice and pleasant brew that's worth your time if you see it.

Pours a rusty amber red orange with a slightly brownish hue and minimal off-white carbonation.

Raspberry, cherries, some light funk, and an enticingly tart lactic acidity.

Raspberry and cherry fruit notes shine well, but a slight caramel malt sweetness comes out in flavor as well with a tart fruity finish.

Medium-body, medium carbonation, crisp, fruity, tart.

Overall, a very well balanced and easy drinking wild. Well done.

T - The taste is tart cherry, raspberry, green apple skin, red wine vinegar, brown sugar, oak and some light lactic acid.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Soft creamy mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish.

O - This is a pretty solid American sour red ale. The flavors a nice balance of sweet and tart. Very good.
