a clean and simple wheat beer base with quite a lot of lemon to it, not sure if its meant to be a proper shandy or what, but it sure seems like a mix of wheat ale and lemonade, tart but only from the lemons, which are bold in such a light beer but natural enough, a touch sweet too, which i dont think this needs, it sacrifices some refreshment value there, but its a nice alternative to their wheatermelon, which doesnt quite have the summery drinkability of this one, at least for me, but this is somewhat similar as a base. white wheat is fresh and clean and gives it a round body, while the acidic lemon makes it tangy and refreshing. sort of a concentrated lemon thing, like the bottle of lemon juice we used to have in the fridge when i was a kid, we would fill up the cap as a dose and dump it on steamed spinach. it made vegetables interesting, and this takes me there. good carbonation, uplifting even, adding to the summery nature of it. you cant come into this expecting much more from it, i think it lives up to its stated goal, and is very lemony. this would be good in a gin drink...

Pours pale yellow. Foamy, medium, white head that lasts a short while with light lacing.

Smells lemon, light tart, wheat and light earthy.

Tastes wheat, sweet lemonade and grassy. Hints of citrus peel finish is Semi dry with a wheaty lemon linger. Medium body and fizzy lower medium carbonation.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/26/2017. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lemonade, pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy/spicy bitterness and slight lemon tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is a nice fruited pale wheat ale. All around nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink. On the bitter side for a wheat ale, but not overdone. Doesn’t quite feel like a shandy. There is enough body and malt presence to feel like a standard wheat ale. Very well balanced and nicely enjoyable.
