There's another listing for a Horseshoe Watermelon back from 2005, but the Nashoba website says this is a one off specifically for Spring 2009, so... could be the same, but maybe not.
This beer poured a crystal clear straw color yellow body with a small fizzy head.
Nose was crisp and very clean with a subtle fresh grain note and just hints of a fruit.
Taste is much like the body. Very clean with lots of subtle fresh cut grain and malt flavors. Watermelon is present, but very light giving it just a touch of flavor. Hops are almost non-existant only giving a touch of contrast to the malt. Absolutely no wheat flavor at all in this, it's almost as if it was filtered. Very american wheat, yet very drinkable.
This is a fabulous lawnmower beer, and possibly the best beer I've had from Nashoba. Much like Nashoba's other wheat beer, it's completely un-wheaty. Crystal clear and crisp. This could be my new summer beer.
