Taster at Bittercreek. Pale, clear golden, small head. Aroma doesn't give much away, malts. Taste picks up a bit , pure grain flavors. Light, smooth, refreshing.

a very tasty lager here, a basic one, no frills or new wave modernization, but also not dumbed down and light like so many of them are, this is a full character beer, and it stands up well against notable imported pils and lager types, i was quite pleased with this overall. golden and shiny in the glass under a high white head with great retention and web lacing, high radiance and nice clarity. it smells and tastes like there are some noble hops in the mix, softly spicy and grassy, fresher than the european beers but a similar profile there, its not overly hoppy or anything, but the hops stand out due to freshness and familiarity. the malt is a touch fuller and sweeter than many of these, especially domestically these days, but its perfect here, still real drinkable, and the flavorful lager yeast dries it out nicely by the finish, bready but not doughy, a honey note, minerals, its a simple complexion but this beer has wonderful balance overall, just enough of everything, too much of nothing, and its a killer food beer with some spicy grilled pork ribs! one of those drinking beers that stands out for its quality and refinement, even when the flavor profile is just like a ton of other lagers out there. i was impressed by this, not enough good craft lagers here locally in the boise area! i hope they package this and keep it coming.
