A massive bowl of fruit candy is at the forefront of the first sniff, with four intensely-tropical hop varietals dancing off the rim of the glass, featuring aromas of melon, passionfruit, and fresh berries. The grain bill consists of mostly base malt with oats and dextrine providing a stout body that still drinks light. Expect a juicy mouthfeel thanks to the world famous “juice” yeast strain.

Grabbed a can of this along with eight other singles (and three Coronado Weekend Vibes) at the campus Trader Joe’s. Online description I found read “A massive bowl of fruit candy is at the forefront of the first sniff, with four intensely-tropical hop varietals dancing off the rim of the glass, featuring aromas of melon, passionfruit, and fresh berries. The grain bill consists of mostly base malt with oats and dextrine providing a stout body that still drinks light. Expect a juicy mouthfeel thanks to the world famous “juice” yeast strain.” Mentioned hops were Galaxy, Strata, Simcoe and Sabro.

Poured a medium golden hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy off-white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Almost perfect foamy lacing. World-class foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)

Sabro jumped out on the nose. Also coconut, vanilla, cedar, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, Galaxy, nectarine, Strata, strawberry, pine, wet grass, pineapple, papaya, melon and lingering Simcoe spice. Much better from the can. (Smell - 4.00)

Tasted a tad better than the nose. In order got Sabro, vanilla, coconut, cedar, Galaxy, passion fruit, Fruity Pebbles, pine, black pepper, Strata, strawberry, wet grass, papaya, melon, Simcoe and lingering spice on my lips. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, juicy finish. (Feel - 4.25)

I think I slightly underrated this, but another good beer from these guys. Just going to keep having them. (Overall - 4.25)

this hazy series has been awesome, ive liked all the beers, they are more refined than most, all quite distinctive both from one another and from what else is out there in the style, and i think it represents some of the best hoppy beer in idaho right now. not the longest lasting head on this one and a little muted in tone, but not overly dense or full of sediment or anything. fuller looking straw color to it, good carbonation. it smells great, southern hemisphere limey galaxy hops out front of the others, strata and sabro evident too, maybe less of the simcoe, which i am fine with. hints of red jolly rancher candy, dried coconut, and juicy orange, really nice, and it all comes through in the flavor real well too. maybe a little grapefruit from the simcoe, but this is galaxy driven to me, intense in a way it rarely is, some lime leaf, white wine grape, and even apricot notes swirling around when they all come together, tropical but not in that cloying way that it can sometimes manifest, and there is enough starchy malt to keep this grounded and beery. good balance, clean ferment, a little bit of alcohol pushing through it all as it warms, but fast finishing for the style and overall really well executed. not quite as compelling as the brand new hazy one called conditioned reflex they just dropped as well, but really solid. cool hop profile here, definitely a unique and successful combination!

16oz can from Brewers Haven. Hazy yellow pour, thin skin of white head. Aroma is bready malts with a small hop presence. Taste is a well-balanced hop blend that brings very minor fruity flavors underneath a coating of hops that brings gentle bitterness. Very tasty.
