Pours a coppery amber color. Aroma is bitter hops with a sweet malty note. Flavor has some sweet caramel malts with a little bitter hop finish. Has decent balance but nothing impresses here. Overall not bad but nothing special.

On tap at the brewery in Vista. Red color (duh). Aroma was hops and the flavor was very hoppy with a decent malt backbone. Overall though I wouldn't grab it again.

Vista, CA

A stunningly beautiful beer. Clear, copper, and amber body with a huge head that isn't in the mood to go anywhere. I wasn't expecting to be taken aback as much as I am after just pouring this beer. Really something to marvel at. Quick! Someone take a picture! A disappointingly small amount of lacing is the only thing keeping this beer from a perfect appearance.

Pleasant and simple. Hoppy grapefruit aroma but there isn't much in the nose. Disappointing after such a terrific appearance.

An exceptionally well-balanced amber IPA. Not overly hop-centric (surprising given the beer's name) as what I enjoy most about this beer is the bready malt character. So many CA brewers aren't interested in creating simple, balanced, yet exceptional IPAs anymore, and in that arena, I believe this one shines.

Medium body and well carbonated. All I ask for in my IPAs.

I would be extraordinarily happy drinking this all night. I suppose that makes it very, very drinkable.

Thanks Kamron!

Very deep copper in color. Very long lasting had

Nose is small. Hops present but fairly undefined.

Taste is excellent. Very hop forward. Nice grassy and mild citrus notes. No astringency at all. Balance is spot on.

Mouthfeel is good. A little rich for the style.

Drinkable beer.

On tap at Mother Earth.

A: Deep crimson with a big frothy off white head. Good retention and lots of lacing.

S: Floral notes with grapefruit, orange, and pine. There's a touch of mint and some caramel malt. Hops are the highlight.

T: Grapefruit, orange, and a notable mint quality. Malt is pretty restrained, imparting caramel and a light sweetness. Pine is evident. Good hop flavor and moderate bitterness. Some astringency in the dry finish.

M: Medium body with moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is dry and sticky with a little astringency.

Overall: Though red in color, this is an IPA, and a  pretty decent one at that.

I tried this beer on-tap at the Ritual Tavern in San Diego.

Righteously Hopped Red IPA has a burnt red colored body that is translucent. The off-white head has fairly good retention and lacing.

The aroma has a big helping of grapefruit and pine, mixed with big, sweet, red malts.

Definitely on the hoppy side of the red spectrum. Grapefruit, bitterness and some resinous pine are the first flavors that I notice, followed by quite a bit of sweet caramel malt.

The mouthfeel has some body to it, with good carbonation.

This is a solid beer from a brewery (apparently a tiny brewery) that I had never heard of, which is always nice to find.
