Mother Earth Brew Co. has unleashed its latest masterpiece as part of the much-celebrated Project X series. Introducing the formidable Hop Monster - a true titan in the realm of craft beers. Diverging from the conventional New England style hazies that dominate the beer market, Hop Monster boldly embraces its bitterness, setting itself apart with a robust 60 IBU (International Bitterness Units) level. This audacious creation is generously infused with a masterful blend of Rakau, Nelson and Citra Hops, resulting in an explosion of flavor that will tantalize the taste buds of even the most discerning connoisseurs.

Tons of grapefruity tropical aroma on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel. Tangy bitter hops on the finish. Nice hazy for sure.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Hazy golden pour, white foamy head recedes to filmy layer. Citrusy aroma, lemon, grapefruit and orange. Taste is citrusy, juicy, zesty.

pours opaque , the color of grapefruit juice. Not much head; maybe 1/8 inch, and it doesn't last long at all. No lacing. Very little smell. The flavor is the highlight: Citrus+apricot dominate. For as thick and dense as this looks it has a surprisingly fizzy mouth feel, but not in an excessive way.

this series continues to be one of the best in idaho as far as hazy beer is concerned, and we are always excited to go to the brewery when these drop and try them fresh, this is solid, a little more interesting and dynamic than the last couple have been, and rather refined too, i didnt find this as full body or starchy feeling as many have been, and the hops just pop, really well done brew here, drinkable for the style, perhaps employing some hop products, this has a pungent cryo type up front boldness without the green character ipa this robust often carries with it. sort of a frosted peach looking tone to this, letting a little light in and packing more than an inch of airy white head from the tap. aroma on this is modern and with some bitterness too despite being juice forward, i get apricot, cantaloupe, and mandarin orange from the can, a light vanilla note, and a tropical aspect too, guava or something, ripe and faintly sweet. the flavor is citrusy up front with a high intensity the whole way through, beeswax and pollen, clean lemon, coconut flesh, tangerine, very fresh and a little oily. very low hop burn but there is a bit of bitterness which i like in a hazy like this, and the body is lighter than the beer looks to me. another real enjoyable offering in this fantastic series, definitely the best of what mother earth does...

16oz can pours out cloudy and hazy straw-gold with a fluffy head...nothing wrong with the aromatics, there is a good dose of somewhat bitter and astringent grapefruit and pine on the nose, fruity as well, creamy and smooth on the palate.
