We don't want to toot our own horn, but we will anyway. This brew is another top seller. Created by accident, a chance blending of raspberry wheat and stout, we recreated this crowd pleaser for distribution. Call it a mad scientist production, call it a miracle, call it dumb luck if you want; we call it serendipity. To those that claim they can only drink one fruit beer or that they don't enjoy them at all, please give this one a try. The blackberries are deliciously subtle giving this wheat ale/stout blend just that little something extra that keeps them coming back for more. Easy drinking by itself or, like the raspberry wheat, a great beer to enjoy with dessert.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 10/7/2014. Pours hazy deep reddish brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of blackberry and dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roast bitterness and slight fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of blackberry, raisin, plum, caramel, toffee, toast, light cocoa, light herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance and robustness of blackberry and dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tartness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice fruited wheat/stout beer. All around good robustness and balance of blackberry and dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

I'm hoping this beer will be a purplish sort of color just for the fun of it, but it's more of an amber-orange. The head is a loose and big-bubbled off-white one with decent retention that leaves light-moderate spotting behind.
The aroma is light and dusty with a smattering of fresh berries, more sweet than tart and very evidently blackberry if not something similar. There's not much to it, but it's not bad.
The flavor shows a bit of blackberry jam then goes straight to phenolic. Bad phenolic. There's some decency to it, but dark roasted malts clash and it has a pithy bitterness that doesn't work. It takes like turpentine from the middle into the finish. Some better flavors come through to cut it, but it's generally unpleasant overall.
The feel is fine, a light-medium body with a bubbly texture, light crispness and some decent smoothness considering it doesn't taste very clean.
