Got this in North Miami Beach last month. Not bad. Poured with kind of a big foamy, frothy head with no lace. Medium amber color. Aromatic with citrus, grassy, hoppy, bit malty and later mineraly. Flavor's about the same. Abrupt.Bit watery. Medium finish. Not too keen on looking for another one anytime soon.

A: Red, pretty clear, bad retention, not much lacing.

S: Alcohol is prominent, with banana backing. Some dark fruit in there. Doesn't smell too great to me...

T: Dark fruit, banana, alcohol - like the smell. It's really cloying.

M: Syrupy. Non-astringent, medium-light bodied. Carbonation good.

D: They need to work on the taste a LOT. The mouthfeel was the best part, and even that was mediocre.

This poured a clear gold color with off-white head. It smelled like earthy yeast, light lemon hops, and some slight copper hops. It tasted like prominent earthy lemon yeast, with very little hops or malt distinguishable. It was slightly thick with substantial carbonation, and had a somewhat sour aftertaste. Overall this was more like a lager than anything else. It was clean, but the flavor wasn't very good, and it had an annoying amount of fizz.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

A: Mostly clear golden color with minimal head. Head has low retention, reduced to a vague ring of bubbles. No lacing.

S: Smells of basic ale: Light malts and thin hops. Some sort of faint aroma that stuck more as a yeasty smell typical in a lager.

T: Moderate pale & caramel malts mostly balanced with some sort of modest hops. Nothing crazy but tasty in its own way. The overall flavors are mostly dry, but you can find some slim sweetness from the malts if you look for them. The finish is moderate and even, beginning malty and then fading to the hop bittering.

M&D: Nice full flavor, if not totally robust or heavy. The carbonation is fine but abundant, helping to give a little more character to the brew. I personally felt the malts were the star of this attraction but they wouldn't be able to show off without everything else coming together the way it does. Overall this is a relatively tasty beverage but nothing awesome. I wouldn't mind partaking of it again.

A - Golden amber with a slight orange hue... Dancing carbonation, just the right amount... Inviting head quickly settle to an inviting lace...

S - Some malt... Not much else... Doesn't seem too complex...

T - Sweet - Maybe hints or caramel and banana... Just a very very slight amount of hops at the finish...

M - Delicate... Light bodied... Not much texture... Simple...

D - A good summer beer... Crisp and not heavy... Refreshing...

Picked up a 6 pack of this while visiting a friend.

Appearance: light amber

Smell: not too much smell - maybe a little malty and a little sweet, but not too much

Taste: mild, a bit sweet with a caramel and bitter spice toward the end - good balance

Mouthfeel: light carbonation, nice body

Drinkability: i could definitely drink a couple of these before wanting to move onto something i'd prefer

Overall: crisp, tasteful and nicely balanced

12 oz. bottle poured into a shaker, Fiddler's Green is bronze with a a bone colored head that leaves light lace.

Smell is grainy, sweet and a little sour.

Taste is malt, sweet caramel and a touch floral, with a hint of dicetyl. Very generic.

Mouthfeel is on the thinner side.

Drinkability is average, like everything else about this forgettable amber.

A = Amber with a yellowish tint, one finger light off white head made up of medium sized bubbles, no lacing to speak of, medium carbonation consisting of small and medium bubbles mized together.

S = Pretty nondescript, very light scent of toasted malt, nothing else.

T = Taste is very understated, not bad, but not much to it either. There is some slight bitterness from hops, but no real hops flavors or smell, the light smell of toasted malt is not very apparent in the taste until the finish when it finally shows up well into what started as a bitter finish.

M = Light bodied, carbonation stings tongue too much.

D = Assuming the ABV is low this could function for sessions, but honestly with all the better beers out there, I do not know why you would bother.

I poured this one from a bottle to a pint glass. It had a clear golden hue, with a head of about a half inch.

The smell was almost nonexistent to me. There was a faint aroma of sugar and malt, but not a whole lot else.

The taste consisted of toffee and some caramel. Complimenting this was some malty flavor. It was decent, but didn't seem to have a whole lot of staying power.

The mouthfeel was had a fair amount of carbonation, giving it some bite. It seemed as though it could've used just a little more.

In general, this isn't a bad beer. It has it's charm, but it's not necessarily great by any means.

Poured amber with decent head. The nose was very coppery, but still had the creamy notes of a decent amber. Kind of a funky taste, creamy, but in a mediocre way. lacking in flavor, and had a wierd coppery taste to it. Defenitely has thin mouthfeel. drinkability is pretty good. I started slamming these out of the bottle after the first one. You get what you pay for comes to mind, but hey, when you only got five bucks, it beats BMC cans any day!

Poured from a bottle with no drink by date. The color is a clear amber topped by a one finger off-white head that falls to a thin crown and very little lacing. The aroma is a very pungeant caramel and fruit smell with hints of banana.

The taste is grainy with some flat bitterness and some tartness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied. Not a bad ale, but, nothing special.

My pops picked up some of this for the price of 69 cents per bottle at the local Grocery Outlet (discount), so I can't be too harsh.
It is well carbonated and pours a good head, with a nice copper/light-amber color. There's not much to speak of in the taste department...it's light for an amber ale, with a finish more like a crisp lager. This would be good refreshment on a hot day w/o resorting to a Corona or Heinekin.
There is a nice malt note, and hops are present tho not particularly notable. Otherwise, a fairly unremarkable brew.

Fiddler's Green Amber pours a medium copper color with a white head from a brown twelve ounce bottle. There is a very mild, malty aroma. The taste is mostly malty, but some mild hops creep in, the aftertaste is caramel and toasted malt. Just kind of average.

Light honey malt in the mellow aroma. The lightly toasted palate features a fairly good balance between a subdued caramel malt, a bready sweatness and a mild but peppery hop spice.

Very mild, but with a decent balance.

Give it a try, but don’t expect anything groundbreaking…

Fiddler's Green Amber is actually pumpkin orange with amber edges. A few steady streams of bubbles blip-blip-blip up to an attractive lid that is orangish ecru in color. Deflation is slow and lace deposition is better than decent.

The nose is inoffensive, indistinct and uninteresting. Makes you want to rush right out and buy a sixer, doesn't it? Minimally toasted malt combines with an out of place earthiness and almost no hoppiness. If the flavor doesn't set out in a different direction, this will be a long twelve ounces.

I'm less than impressed. Although it isn't a deal breaker, there's an off-flavor that I can't quite put my finger on. It's an earthy, phenolic sort of vibe that might be coming from a less than tidy yeast strain. The rest of the flavor profile doesn't exactly set my world on fire.

Amber is malt-dominant with respect to flavor, but a surprising amount of bitterness appears on the back end and tickles the tongue through the finish. Each sip delivers a messy melange of well-toasted bread, mild caramel notes and citrus pith (with little of the more flavorful peel). I think a recipe change is in order. A major one.

The mouthfeel is pretty much where an amber ale should weigh in. It's light-medium with a lively amount of carbonation that does its level best to lend a little excitement to the proceedings.

Now that I've had all three Fiddler's Green offerings, I'd rank them as follows: India Pale Ale (good and drinkable), Amber (average at best), Blonde (don't waste your money). Only the IPA gives me hope that these guys can brew good beer if they put their minds to it.

Clear dark gold/bronze color with little to no off-white head but has tons of carbonation. Good malty nose with hints of spice, caramel, and toffee. Similar flavors. LIght-medium bodied and a bit airy due to the carbonation.

Not a bad American Amber but nothing special.

Picked this one up in a mixed sixer at Total wine the other week and finally got around to trying it. They way they display these around there you would swear it was their local brand!

A - Poured a decent russet reddish amber with a smallish, about one inch off white head. This quickly faded and left just a thin film of lace on the top. Some small visible carbonation, no side glass lace.

S - Light, lots of bready malts, a splash of some hoppiness in the end I think, definatly something bitter and fresh in there.

T - Not bad, nice and light but very good flavor profiles. Bitter at first but mellows out nicely to a slightly sweet bready grain sort of taste, Still had a more then decent bitter finish.

M - Smooth, a bit slick, but in a good way. Decent carbonation, light on the palate. FLavors were really allowed to pop nicely.

D- Very good, this was definatly a session and a fine one at that. Could easily be an all nighter without issue.

Overall I really liked this, much better then the IPA. Would actually really pirchase this one again, really definatly actually. Would make a good introductory beer for someone not acquainted, very nice beer.
