Poured from a pint can into an IPA Style glass. Light amber body with a slight bit of haziness, beautiful cream colored head with great lacing. Fruity aroma, with some citrus. First sip is about grapefruit, some hops bitterness. The higher abv isn't as well hidden in this DIPA as it has been in others I have had, but still quite good.

A bit over priced, local NJ beer at Red Bank 07701 WFM. Appreciate the local craft.
A) Totally clouded brass body sports a one finger white head w moderate last and lace.
S) Ample, juicy, citrus and apple, astride a sweet, malt core.
T) Follows the smell but more abundant. Juicy and minerally stand out, with bright orange and pine hops, over that sweet, white cracker malt base. More juice, nectar like complexity that makes you savor the body on your tongue like a wine.
F) Savory, full-medium body, with great layers of flavor that soothe and finish clean.
O) Solid, slightly sweet, nectar like DIPA, worth a try, nice fall beer.

The Pit Boss has a strong, unusual nose. Some say they detect citrus, grapefruit and pine, but my olfactory lobes detected another strong smell that seemed familiar—but I still can’t place it. Do the Zythos or Warrior hops produce it, perhaps? Anyway, it’s an 8.5% DIPA that conceals the alcohol well. Nice balance of malt and hops, with hops just nosing across the finish line. Tasty and thirst-quenching with a somewhat sticky, but not unpleasant mouthfeel. I’d buy another 4-pack.

New Jersey Beer Company "Pit Boss Double India Pale Ale"
16 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$3.99 @ Roger Wilco, Pennsauken, NJ
Look: Cloudy golden/brass colored body beneath a short head of white foam. Average head retention and lacing.
Smell: Citrusy with distinct orange over a sweetish biscuity malt base.
Taste: Bright orange and lemon with a touch of pine atop a grainy, biscuity malt base that's more than just biscuity and a touch golden-caramelish and cake-like. Solidly bitter to balance the sweetness of the malt, it finishes bitter but also lightly sweet until the malt erodes - the bitterness wins out over the malt however. Some citrusy hops linger with some soft pine. Some alcohol lets its presence be known but never steps forward.
Feel: Medium-full in body and gently crisp.
Overall: The head retention and lacing could be better, but beyond that with the exception of the cloudy body which can be forgiven for the most part as that's so common these days, it's a pretty solid double IPA that leans towards sweetness but redeems itself in the end. Nicely done overall.

Sixteen ounce can copped from Monmouth Park. Pours a copper ruddy hue with minimal frothing. Pungent aroma replete with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Similar overall flavor profile.

This one is not what it looks like. Pours amber with a thin head. Aroma is hoppy/pine. Taste is the issue. Taste is PineSol. Feel is astringent. I hope it was a glassware problem. Others from NJ Beer Co. are much better.
Update 1/13/17
Taste issues have gone. Taste is now decent hoppy bitter with enough malt to keep it good. A decent IPA. First one must have been a fluke.
