It was a pretty solid beer. I just don't remember a whole lot about it for that reason.

Beautiful, deep caramel color with a full finger of foam that sticks around for a while.
The smell is sweet, powerful malt and lots of caramel and vanilla that is obviously from the bourbon barrel. Very slight fruitiness to the smell as well.
The taste follows the smell pretty closely. I get a lot malt and brown sugar or molasses with just a hint of bitterness in the background. There's not a lot of subtlety here, but if you're the mood for a sweet, sticky mess of a beer, this one will satisfy your sweet tooth.
Mouthfeel is surprisingly good. It might be because it's so sweet and sugary, but the beer has a great chewiness to it.
Overall, I feel like I'm drinking a carbonated Old Fashioned. This beer is right in your face with bourbon, malt, and brown sugar with just a hint of something sweet and fruity, like a maraschino cherry. Make sure you're in the mood for something sweet when you drink this beer. I don't want that to sound like I'm disparaging it, though; I've had it before, and I bought this one specifically because that's what I was in the mood for.

Poured into a snifter.

A: Dark brown with a one finger tan head that hangs on for the opening volley. Light lacing.

S: Bourbon comes on strong, followed by dark fruits and a strong sugary sensation.

T: A great mix of bourbon, caramel, dark fruits (dates and raisins) and brown sugar. The bourbon really makes this one sing as it holds on tight to the finish.

M: Medium with low to medium carbonation. Chewy.

O: I was a bit leery about this one, since the base Dark Planet was too sweet for me. But the bourbon aging brings out the flavors, especially as it warms. Recommended.

A very malty drink when cold. Let this beer warm up to really enjoy the flavor. A sweet flavored beer, bourbon flavor is mild. The malt flavor is quite strong for me, but it's a good brew. I won't go ask for it at the store, but if you prefer strongly malted brews, this one is for you.

Poured from 22 oz bomber into snifter.

A: Pours a deep chestnut brown with two finger light tan head. Nice retention and some minimal lacing.

S: Sweet bourbon, brown sugar, and raisins.

T: Plums, raisins, dates mixed with caramel, brown sugar, and bourbon.

M: Full bodied but not thick with average carbonation.

O: Very nice barrel aged old ale. I prefer Unobtanium or Illudium over this one, but still a nice beer.

Edit - the more this warms up, the flavors really open up. I may have to adjust my scores some...
