Visited this brewery while in town for a concert. Nice, cool place. Hung out in the tap room and sampled several beers. Cool bartenders. Will visit again.

10 taps, plus bottles available for consumption on-site. Staff is friendly, funny, and knowledgeable.
Location is hard to find (it's sort of behind and to the right of the big gym). Don't miss the pinball room!

Fun place to go have a beer for the evening.
The bar area is small and so Is the brewery itself but what comes out of here is good.
Nice variety of their own creations on tap all the time.
Great location in south Huntsville.
They also hold some fun events on the property every week with food trucks and game night.

Went on a Saturday for a tour. The tour was very informative and you got 4 or 5 tasting tickets. The tour was very informative, but it did seem to drag on for a while. You got to see the entire operation including canning line, barrel program, fermenters, cooler, etc. The taproom is tiny, so don't expect much there. They brew the best beers in Huntsville IMO.

Hidden behind a large gym, and located in an unassuming warehouse off the beaten path, we had a difficult time finding the place. A metal sign with their devilish logo hanging off the front of the building is all the notation they apparently want or need. There was no visible entrance at the front of the building, but not to be distracted from my goal, I walked around to the side. A small door with an even smaller Straight To Ale stencil on it (looking like an un-official worker's only entrance) yielded to my attacks and allowed us access to the tiny tasting room. A very small bar across from the entrance boasted a friendly server, a television and a glowing crimson brewery symbol. One other patron sat at the bar sipping at a drink and gazing at the television's blue glow. A large rocket hung from the ceiling, piloted by two stuffed monkeynauts. Posters and framed can artwork for the brewery were placed sporadically upon the walls. My personal favorite (also playing off Huntsville's NASA past) was the Wernher Von Brown Ale.

We tried all the beers, served to us in trippy hand-made rocket shaped wooden sampler trays. All of the beers were good to very good. I especially liked the Lilly Flagg Milk Stout and the Brother Joseph's Dubbel: fine examples of their styles. The lagers were a bit less perfect--perhaps fermentation temperature issues--but still drinkable. I spent a nice and relaxing hour here with my wife and her sister, talking and trying out these local beers. Not until heading out did I realize that they had a small arcade with old fashioned pinball machines in a room around the corner.

The STA taproom is a pretty sweet little place literally located in the garage part of the brewery building. The bar seats and high-top tables can accommodate some two-dozen, or so, people in the main tap-room, however they also will add tables, chairs, and even a stage into the open part of the brewery area for large events for many dozens of people. The taproom also has a small arcade including some pinball machines.

The quality and service somewhat compliment the atmosphere by having a feeling of just being a step or two above drinking beer in your brewing friend's garage.

... the selection is pretty straightforward... they have a full-selection of Straight to Ale beer, but that is all they have...!

Although the STA taproom itself does not serve food they will sometimes have mobile food vendors that will park at the open garage door - especially during larger events, or there are many places that deliver to that part of town.
