can dated 3/2/18 so not so retired as listed
Pours an almost clear dark amber color, which is beautiful, but pale ale color? A finger of off white foam kicks back to skim and ring quickly.
Deep caramel malt sweet, grapefruit pith, pine, and light herbal bitter make a full strength aroma that is similar to old school IIPA.
Caramel malt sticky sweet at the edge of overpowering the other flavors, but citrus pith and bitter orange hang in, finally handing the baton to some deep pine and herbal bitter notes. I am not very sensitive to diacetyl, but I do get those notes in there too, not so they ruin this, but def. don't do any favors.
A little over the top for carb., body, and viscosity rated to style. Finish has a bit of weird note to it that is reminiscent of the feel of diacetyl.
Not a great beer by any stretch, caramel bomb with some diacetyl, stay away is my advice.

A: Pours a light copper color. Fluffy whit head that leaves tons of lacing.
S: Subtle hints of peach, tangerine and pine
T: Mandarin orange, peach slight rind flavor. The finish includes some sweet fruit flavors.
MF: there is certainly an element of quickness. This is nice and easy drinking.
O: A very good IPA. I would like a bit more bitterness in it. Would be perfect beer for sitting on a porch in the summer.
