First had poured from 12-oz. can, stamped on bottom, “SEA SALT CARAMEL COFFEE STOUT BORN TO ROCK 9/1/17,” gift from friend, into nonic pint. Brewed with caramel coffee, reminiscent of some of the better mocha beers. Strong flavors hide 7.70 ABV well.

Appearance is opaque dark brown nearly to the edge of the glass, where a reddish hue reveals itself. It pours a moderate creamy tan head that has decent retention but leaves almost no lacing. The aroma is a sweet caramel scent with little hint of the coffee. Taste is slightly sweet with hints of caramel, giving way to a solid coffee presence. Finish is bitter dark roasts. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.

I tried this at the brewery...it poured an opaque dark with off white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had hints of toffee. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it was a good beer.
