CAN:
8% German Maibock. $2.29 USD plus tax for a single can at 504 Craft Beer Reserve in New Orleans, LA.
AROMA: Malty and sweet...seems imbalanced. Booze is evident - oddly so for a Maibock.
TASTE & TEXTURE: Sweet, syrupy, malty. 2-row/6-row...some kind of cheap malted barley in addition to Munich malt.
Filling and heavy but not bready in flavour. Unrefreshing. Smooth, wet, well-carbonated.
OVERALL: It's a pretty lacklustre stab at the style to be fair. Just fails to nail the style fundamentals on a basic level, and its obvious alcohol doesn't make it an easy drinking beer when coupled with its fairly insipid yet still off-putting taste.
