He Ain’t Heffe is our take on the traditional German hefeweizen. An unfiltered wheat beer, it has a big nose full of banana and clove, a light and fruity flavor and a very small hop profile. Sweet and refreshing… a great lawnmower beer!

A: Hazy light orange color, very thin off white head, very little lacing
S: Lots of banana, bubble gum
T: Sweet malts, banana, bubble gum, the bready wheat malts, after taste is a light banana flavor
M: Light to medium
O: A great tasting hefeweizen. The head retention was a little off but all the other measurables were there.

I tried a can of this at Oudette's in Florence, Alabama. It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that did not leave any lace. The scent was faint hints of clove and banana. The taste was weak for a heffe. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's ok....average at best.

This rocket-town Hefeweizen pours to a thin, brief-lived pebbly white head on a very slightly hazy, quiescent deep-gold body; lacing manifests as very sparse spots and arcs. The nose is medium in intensity: a nice blend of well-expressed apple and yeast with a more subtle wheat character, and hints of citrus and of banana/clove spice; very slight alcohol overtones ride aloft. The palate is tartish caramel apple— a very full, well-expressed apple flavor, as on the nose— with hints of spice and citrus, all over a largely obscured muddy wheat foundation. The finish is a modest hit of tartish, caramelly wheat; the linger is a very mild tartish spiced apple flavor that fades quickly. Mouthfeel is commensurate with the light body, and the texture is slightly creamy and faintly peppery from the underexpressed carbonation. (12 oz can, 138 days after pkg)

Hazy appearance of a lighter shade of gold. Attractive white cap that quickly dissipates.
An aroma of light citrus with clove, banana and wheat malt seasoned with a hint of spice.
Taste is simple but solid, straight down the middle of the road with a little tartness all the way. Banana and clove apparent on entry with wheat becoming stronger mid palate and prominent in the finish/aftertaste. There is little hop presence but enough there to balance the rest.
Light medium texture.
A good solid effort without any flashes or flourishes, just simple stuff that does it's job a bit better than average. Good flavor that should enjoy a wide appeal. Not the equal of a sophisticated German Hefe but relatively unflawed and certainly nothing to complain about.
