Absolutely wonderful on tap! Great smell and flavor. I enjoyed everything about this Ale. Watch out for the sneaky punch.

Pours red/brown/copper. Strong smell of apple and fruit. Smell very sweet. Taste is sweet and boozy. Fruits and sugary candy. My first experience with a wheat wine. Don't get me wrong... It is good and worth a try. It is a bit on the sweet side for me. Maybe the jury is still out on this style for me.

22oz bottle from Hop City (Atlanta, GA). 10.99. No bottling date. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku.
Pours amber with red and orange highlights, capped by a full finger of ecrue head. The bubbles fade to a meager halo without any lacing to speak of.
Sweet aromas of sugar, caramel, apple and vague cherry. There is a little wheat grain in there too but it's mostly fruit tinged sugars.
Taste follows the nose with a little more going on. Apple, grainy wheat sugars, caramel, cherries, earthy oak-like quality, faint toffee and a healthy dollop of booze. Fruity, grainy, sweet and boozey. Good stuff.
Syrupy, medium full feel with slightly restrained carbonation. Grain alcohol and fruit syrup in the aftertaste.
True to style with it's grainy sweetness, the originality of Vern's Wheat Wine is in its fruitiness. This is a great wheat wine with everything I look for in the style plus that interesting apple and cherry factor. I hope this site is wrong about this being discontinued because this is more fine work from Straight To Ale.
