shared 22oz bottle poured with a clear brown body and a decent head.
A good bit of medium roasted malt flavor but the moderately smokey nose is followed by an overly smokey flavor.
O: just too smokey for me but expected to appeal to those more fond of smoked beers.

this beer is 1 of 4 in a collaboration between straight to ale, yellowhammer, and blue pants celebrating the legalization of bombers in alabama. this is a smoked doppelbock.
a - poured a one finger thick tan head into a willi becher that left a thin ring of lace throughout. the body was reddish-brown.
s - smokey, band-aid aromas.
t - smoke with some peat, caramel and a hint of chocolate.
m - creamy and rich.
o - just the right amount of smoke and a really solid offering.
