Very pale clear salmon with a short bubbly white head.
An oddball--a pilsner with grape must and/or wine barrel aging (the server wasn't quite sure)--it's a very mildly, juicy sort of lager, but that's about it.
Although...there is a hint of funk on the nose.

easily one of the most ambitious beers i have ever had from moab, a cool recipe that incorporates cab sauv and pinot grigio grapes or grape must rather into the mix. its still relatively tame, but i appreciate these guys doing something a little outside the box. i am surprised the alcohol didnt creep any higher on this one with theoretically some sugar coming in from the fruit, and i am surprised it doesnt have more color from the red wine grape element, its barely even one hue toward pink, just looks like a pale ale in the glass. there is a fruity sweetness to the nose, berries and plums, an interesting hop layer too, more white than red grape to me, although both are present, some maltiness as well that is not out of place here, rather cohesive overall. the flavor is rather subtle on the fruit, but its impact is still evident, and its nice with the hops. no tang or tannins at all from it, no real bitterness either, its a very balanced and drinkable brew, but yet still somewhat amateur to me in execution, like this would be radically better in a second batch. it should be drier, even more fruit forward, and perhaps a little better carbonated too, but i like the unique flavors and the way the grapes and the hops go together so well. cool recipe, cool idea, very drinkable.
