Bottled 7/08/14, meant to drink in the summer but never got around to it, then it was too cold, finally a nice warm day to drink this.
Pours a large fizzy fluffy head that fades pretty quickly, then slows and leaves spotty lacing, very clear watery pilsner color.
Nose big bready doughy malt, grainy cracker and wheat funk, little yeasty, into mild funk, but a mild mineral content and fruity lager like, grainy toasty pilsner, kinda weird.
Trade brings more sourness, pretty sour with mild lactic funk and sour creamy wheat. Then malts, grainy and doughy, little cracker wheat, a lot like raw sour dough, with a lot of bready yeasty sourness, and mild lemon, and bit of acidity. Mild lager base feel, crisp soft lager with mild mineral note again. Finish is dry and quite sour, big lactic died milk and creamy funk, sour mash and wheat, more raw sour dough and lemon tartness lingering. Little green sour apple on the back end.
Mouth is lighter bod, mild creamy lactic feel and mild acidity, decent carb.
Overall weird, the pilsner lager components are really weird, the raw bready dough is ok, nice lactic acid and lemon, but not a big funk or much for wheat. Still light refreshing and enjoyable.

From 10/18/14 notes.
Pours a clear bright yellow color, one finger of bright white head, high carbonation evident. Beer smells super funky, like dirty feet, some light citrus, sour fruits. Very stinky, some cheese. I didn't hate it as much as some but a bit too funky in an offputting way for me to get behind. Light body and moderate carbonation.

Looks and pours like bud light. Tastes like bud light too, with an added tartness that is very rounded and refreshing. Finishes clean. This beer is beer refreshing and easy to drink, but isn't as tasty or complex as intergalactic acid from The Tap, another local Berliner weisse.
