Collaboration beer with Enlightenment Ales (Ben Howe). Northern German Pilsner, double decocted, open fermented, naturally carbonated and lagered for 2 months. Hopped in the kettle with Motueka. Not a session beer!

Pours a beautiful golden straw with white head. The carbonation is spritzy. There's a lime and rose petal aroma on the nose. That rose petal character is still prominent in the flavor. There's some nice saltine cracker and overall a bit of salinity (not in a Gose type of way). There's a little bit of a soapy quality to it too. It's dry. To me, this isn't Notch's fastball, but it's cool to see them doing different things with the pale lager base. Pale lager is certainly not a monolith and Notch (with the help of Otherlands and Ben Howe) prove this.

Crowler dated 2/10, consumed on 2/22. Man I love a damn crowler.
Surprised at how light the body is on this beer - straw gold with remarkable clarity. Looks lean and light and airy. Nice one-inch puffy head that hangs out for a bit.
Aroma is on the lighter side of doughy, crackery, malty and slightly floral. I mean very slightly. This smells like a light pilsner to this this reviewer's senses.
Tastes great. Man this is delicious and I could drink this all day. That same pilsner body with an added layer of complexity by the unique hopping - slightly floral and a touch earthy. Not one of those nu-age citrusy pilsners; something different and unique.
Light on the palate but not on taste. Clean, crisp and super drinkable. Great beer.
