Pours clear, gold in color with one half inch head. Taste is biscuits, slight caramel, and white bread. Light body, crisp, with moderate carbonation. So much flavor for such a low abv. Wow is this great. Notch has another winner.

Poured from a can dated 9/18/2020 into the test pilsner glass
A - Lovely light straw color, exceptional clarity, that natural carbonation has a vibe all its own. Seductive to watch, feeds a pillowy white cap.
S - Warm bread rising, a thin line of grassy herbal hops. Excellent malt expression on the nose.
T - Biscuit, a hint of caramel, and a hint of diacetyl, all in the mix, floal center, with a bit of lemongrass and green apple.
M - Excellent body, hefty texture for a sub 3% offering. Semi sweet start, then a clean wash of the palate toward a lovely herbal dry finish.
O - A really lovely beer, excellent aromatics, lovely full feel, flavors are precise with no drift. Table style Czech Lager Yes please!

Drank from a 16 fl. oz. 473 ml. can purchased at Notch Brewing, Salem, MA
Canned on: 09/18/20
Served in a Willi Becher
The beer poured a nearly crystal clear, light golden amber hue. A touch of sediment sneaked into the glass, clouding the liquid ever-so slightly. A fluffy, inch-plus tall, bright white crown topped the body and slowly dropped to a bubbly cap and a thick, resilient collar. Streaks of lacing stuck along the glass.
Freshly baked bread notes came through big time in the nose. Bread crust perhaps. Doughy and fairly yeasty. Quite sweet overall for the style. This definitely conjured up memories of walking into a brewery and smelling fresh wort. Pale German malt notes were also detectable. Hint of sulfur.
The flavor profile was a bit more typical than the aroma. German malts were apparent up front. Touch of caramelization. Crisp, bright and lemony in the center. Earthy hops were noticeable here as well and became more prominent as the beer moved along the palate. Hint of sulfur on the finish initially, but this soon dissipated. A touch of hoppy bitterness lingered after the swallow.
Nice light, fluffy mouthfeel. Crisp and sprightly on the palate. The liquid contained a tightly beaded but fairly aggressive effervescence that was spot-on for a 2.4% ABV beer.
Low ABV lagers and table beers are becoming increasingly popular, and Notch’s Here Comes A Regular was one of the better examples I have tried to date. Although this beer was lighter in body and insanely crushable, I never would have guessed it to be under 3%.

16oz can poured into a Stange.
A: Nice Deep golden color with an almost brassy hue great rocky large-bubbled white head with superb retention and blotches of lacing. Great clarity.
S: Mildly toasty and biscuity malt aroma, some hop oils and freshly cut grass, touch of garden herbs.
T: Biscuity and mildly toasty malt up front with a nice melanoma in richness to it. Green and oily hops. Freshly cut grass, very herbal and almost tobacco-like at times. Finishes with a lot of that oily hop flavor.
M: Rounded malt firmness and melanoidin richness in a very light body. Ample carbonation. Oily and mildly astringent.
O: Sort of like a Czech table Pilsner, if that makes sense. In actuality this small beer doesn’t feel that small though. It has all the body you’d expect of a Czech pils, just in a smaller package. Perfect beer for the herb crusted cod I’m eating with it, and a beer I could see keeping around consistently as a meal accompaniment.

Pours a med to a bit larger frothy foamy head with med retention, a bit of soapy lacing, crystal clear golden-tan color
Nose grainy malt, a little sweet, straw and some corn, a bit of cereal mash, some raw wort as well, light floral hops and herbal spices
Taste brings sweet cereal malt, cereal mash and a bit more raw wort flavor, again straw and corn notes, quite grainy, hops kick in with light herbal floral flavors and med-lighter bitterness, light herbal spices again almost potpourri like, getting flowery late, finishes dry with a bit more bitterness, more raw wort and straw corn cereal mash flavor
Mouth is med to lighter bod, med-higher foamy carb
Overall not bad, nice full flavor, easy drinking, quite enjoyable for low alc beer that I can crush through during the week, so excited to see more beers like this
