500ml bottle served in a willibecker. Pours a lovely mahogany hue with a loose, khaki-colored head that quickly disperses into a textured skim of bubbles. Clarity is a bit murky. Lovely nose - bready and prunes. Taste follows nose with the addition of a light, herbal quality at the finish. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body, with an easy, even carbonation. Overall, a very nice example of the style.

My last takeaway from my latest trip to Notch last weekend. A double imperialized Altbier. Interesting, you don’t see many of these. Let’s see what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy orange brown with 2 fingers of off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
There’s a toasted vibe in the nose that I’m really digging. I’m picking up on aromas of brown bread, toasted grain, toffee, peppery hops, sweet honey, and light molasses
This also has a very nice balance in taste, and tastes like it’s far below 7.6%. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting brown sugar, dark toast, herbal hops, toffee, and light caramel. The swallow brings notes of sweet toffee, honey, herbal hops, brown bread, and light black pepper
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth yet crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and balanced
Oh man, this is great stuff. I need to get more of this next time I go back to Notch

Pours a beautiful amber brown. Notes of molasses and sage on the nose. It has that sweet herbal nose. There's sweet bootstrap, maple stickiness from the malt character that is cut by a nice hop bite with a graham cracker crust finish. Maybe a touch of Demerara sugar as well. There's a touch of warming heat that comes through as well. This is not a session beer. In terms of where it falls within the Notch Alt portfolio, this falls below the stellar altbier and the profound sticke alt, but it's excellent in its own right.
