Inspired by French Pils from the Alsace region of France. French pils malt, hopped with French Strisselspalt, open-fermented, spunded, and lagered forever. One sip, and you'll understand why 60% of beer consumed in France is brewed in Alsace.

Had to try a "French" pils. Brewed with Strisselspalt hops from the Alsace region, pours a slightly cloudy straw color (from a can). Nice head that sticks around to become nice lacing as you work your way through it.The aroma is crackers, corn, spicy and floral but very little hop aroma. The taste is similar to other pils but maybe a bit lighter. Notes of cracker, white pepper with a nice slightly bitter finish. Light mouthfeel makes this an easy drinker. Overall, I like it an other way. Fill Disclosure: I'm fond of Pilsners.

Had on tap. Some murkiness in the clarity of this body, huge white head and lacing abounding. Pale grains and bready yeast make this snappy and satisfying pils in the mouth feel. The taste has white pepper, grass, flowers, and lemon zest to go with the starring duo. Smell gets some multivitamin and wild honeycomb, but limited pepper and flowers. Hoppier than other french pilsners I have had, but it works well and doesn't loose the script

Poured from a 16 oz can.
Pours a cloudy straw color with a big fluffy head. Great retention. Leaves a ring of lacing.
Nose has lemon zest, pepper, corn and grass with a bit of bread.
Flavor is grainy and biscuity with some lemon zest and sweet corn.
Feel is medium-light with moderate carbonation.
Overall, a solid and interesting pils. Hoppier than Czech and German styles, but less bitter. I guess they added corn to the recipe? Anyway, it's good.

Color: pale yellow in a Pilsner glass with a 3F head.
Aroma: faint fruit
MF: hoppy, tart
Taste: fruity
As the beer warms up, a hoppier finish.
The Alsatian hops give the beer a different character than German or Czech pilsners. The aroma is weaker, less malty. A very good beer- quite different. But I like the Czech and German style better.

Served in a Pilsner glass, there’s a solid white foam head. The liquid is lighter gold and clear.
Attractive smell despite the presence of grain. The pale malt is Helles-like while the hop is fresh and floral. There are a few wider streaks left on the glass as it’s consumed.
The grain reappears on the tongue giving this beer a grittier flavor than most Pilsners. The hop is high quality and more pronounced than the style normally suggests. This like a Pilsner-Pale Ale hybrid. The body and carbonation (spritzy) are good. Overall, this is a well made beer even if it’s slightly off of style.

On draft @ Publick House. Pour is a nice clear golden yellow. 2 finger head. Nose is bready/grainy, with a bit of a floral, grassy note. Tastes very strongly of jasmine tea to me- grassy, floral, herbal with a hit of cereal grain. Jasmine taste amplifies in the aftertaste. Mouthfeel leaves a bit to be desired, rather thin with light-moderate carbonation.

Canned 2/24/23
I don’t drink many canned Notch beers, they’re usually either draft or crowler fills. But this is one I meant to try when it was released but I never got around to it, so despite the fact that this can is older I figured it was worth picking up. Let’s crack it open and see what it has to offer
Pours a mostly clear pale yellow with 2 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves decent lacing
The nose is pretty much standard fare, sweet with a bit of a bite. I’m picking up on aromas of doughy malt, raw grain, wildflower honey, lemon zest, grassy hops, and light white pepper
It’s pretty much more of the same in taste but still solid. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting crackery malt, lemon zest, grassy hops, white pepper, wildflower honey, cereal grain, and light like zest. The swallow brings notes of doughy malt, wildflower honey, herbal hops, white pepper, grass, lemon zest, and raw grain
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky in a style that is typically refreshing
While it’s not doing anything super impressive it’s still pretty damn good. I’m sure a fresher can would’ve been better but the mouthfeel is still a turnoff for me

Love the Alsatian hops. Nice simple pilsner beer. Well done!
