Crowler filled 9/10/22
So this is labeled as a New England Pale Ale, but since that isn’t a style on BA, I added it as an American Pale Wheat Beer, just like its base beer Dog & Pony Show. This is just that beer but hopped with Wolf and Dragon instead of Citra. I’d been meaning to try that one first but let’s see what this is all about
Pours a clear yellow gold with 2 fingers of off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
This is certainly tropical in the nose but still shows a nice balance. I’m picking up on aromas of overripe cantaloupe, orange zest, bubblegum, wheat bread, lemon zest, peppery hops, passionfruit, and a touch of toffee
This takes on a whole mew brightness in taste which I really dig. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange zest, crackery malt, floral hops, cantaloupe, lemon juice, honey, and grapefruit zest. The swallow brings notes of orange juice, crackery malt, overripe cantaloupe, peppery hops, lemon juice, light apple, and strawberry
A light body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a clean and crisp beer. Finishes dry but a bit watery
This is a different vibe for Notch but I really like it. It’s tradition and modernity meeting
