Fifteenth anniversary beer. Triple decocted, open fermented, naturally carbonated. Lagered forever in pitch lined barrels.

Pours a pale golden, with white head. Honey and a little bit of sweet resin on the nose. Maybe a touch of white grape as well. There is malt body to this but you don't really get as much of the malt flavor because the combination of the hops and the pitch are kind of overpowering. It's a little unbalanced, which is atypical of Notch's overall lager program but definitely of its Czech style lager program.
I think the pitch lined barrel program is fascinating and I think it brings unique qualities to the beers. I also don't think it's a technique that I am necessarily fond of.
