500ml brown glass bottle.
L: Clear, dark amber with a few stray bubbles rising to one finger of off-white head that leaves rings of lacing.
S: Toffee.
T: Caramel, biscuit, some floral notes and a hint of lemon. Light bitterness, semi-sweet.
F: Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, dry finish.
O: A great, traditional English ale.

Delicious. My favorite British ale on draft. Will supplement this review with tasting notes next time I have a glass of it in front of me.

Body is copper brown with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, some caramel and apples coming through. Taste is thick malts, some burnt sugar and a very slight bitterness. Low carbonation on the mouthfeel, slight creaminess on the palate. Not in any way remarkable.

One of the best. A great beer, do not pass on a pint if available. Malty and a fine amber/copper colour.

Cask pint at the Fountain Inn, Gloucester. Reddish brown colour, small off-white head, nice lacing. Nice malty and fruity aroma and flavour, hints of blackcurrants and other dark berries. Low bitterness. Good beer.

Half pint in The White Lion, Frenchay, UK. Colour - warm, burning amber. Tight, creamy head (though it collapsed fairly quickly). Lots of fruit well balanced by generous malt (tasting the richness of Maris Otter??). All in all a very competent ale - would definitely order again.
