Pours a dark cherry color with good clarity. Aroma is a bit funky and sour mash techniques are evident. The taste is tart , with notes of lemon and sour cherry. Yeast driven and quite nice. Wheat, sour, funky malt. Reminds me of a classic dark Berliner weisse, for a beer brewed in the burgh I'll definitely take it. Not so much a Flanders, but enjoyable. If it is a Flanders, it is too thin and lacks the malt and yeast flavor usually found in that style. Definitely an interesting little beer. Though it's not a world class example of the style listed, it's still a very good beverage. Nice little sour, beer nerds take note!

On tap for "Sour Night" at The Brew Kettle in Strongsville, Ohio during Cleveland Beer Week 2014. Not a very authentic Flanders Red, but not bad for a first attempt from a smaller brewery. I appreciate the effort, and it's an enjoyable beer in its own right.

Anytime there's a Flemish ale going on, I'm down. Pours a mildly reddish hue on an amber brown color. Mild Flemish funk going in with some of the expected (and hoped for) cherry-ish fruit with firm wood tones. Mild lactic thing going on. Hey, it's no Rodenbach, but it's really not too shabby. The body is a bit thinner than I would hope for, but oh well. I'd do this again in a heartbeat. If I didn't have to be up at the ass-crack of dawn tomorrow, I'd probably have another or two.
