Notes: RiNo Juicy APA is the reimagining of RiNo Pale Ale, one of the first beers Epic brewed to season their Denver brewhouse. It’s updated with loads of juicy, late-addition, Centennial and Mosaic hops, just a bit of haze to soften the mouth-feel and a bright burst of colorful tropical aromas.

12 oz can served in a lager glass. $1.99 from the Wall of Beer (SC).
The pour produces a very fruity aroma with citrus and other tropical fruit notes.
The flavor largely follows, finishing with moderate bitterness and grapefruit.
Medium+ body with lively medium+ carbonation.

The ratings seemed all over the map for this one. I really enjoyed it - fantastic flavors and aromas. This brewery has quickly become one of my most reliable - I have yet to experience a real stinker from Epic. Looks nice, slightly hazy honeyed orange-yellow color with a little mild foamy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Smells of juicy citrus hops - grapefruit, tangerine, orange, pineapple, passion fruit - as well as a little floral hops, malt, vanilla and bread. Taste follows the nose, and man is that hoppy bitterness just so well balanced with the sweeter malt backbone. Smooth, juicy, mild mouthfeel and very good carbonation. I could drink many of these in a single sitting. Most definitely sessionable.

Draft pint at Craft & Draft

Copper pour with one finger cream head. Full curtain of lacing and full coverage of surface.
Prominent citrus aroma: grapefruit, honeybell, yeast
Bitter citrus , grapefruit pith, white pepper, grass
Light body but full flavored, stubborn carbonation
Refreshing, I could drink several at a sitting.
Nice APA.

12 oz. can. Pours slightly hazy gold with a small white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, sweet malt. Taste is the same, lots of tropical fruit with sweet malt. Great balance. Very tasty.
Edit 2020-03-21: re-rating this a bit higher. Drinking one now and I think it deserves better than I originally rated it.

12oz can, no apparent freshness date. Huge rocky head leaves thick foamy lacing on the glass as it fades atop a hazy apricot colored ale. Fruity tropical hops fill the nose with orange, mango, pineapple, and caramel malt. On the palate, bold citrus and tropical passion fruit and pineapple collide with a light caramel base; earthy pine, mango, and orangey kumquat round out the flavors. Medium body, very resinous, finishes bitter with pine, citrus, and white pepper lingering. Juicy? Yes. Flavorful? Yes. Would I get it again? Yes!

Bottle at the brewery. White head. Lace. Clear golden orange, no haze.

Earthy and juicy. Fruity and floral. Some citrus. A little bit of malts.

Pretty basic, but pretty solid!

This is yet another entry into the hazy APA/IPA market, and it's not bad, but I prefer others a bit more. This one gives you the fruitiness up front, then the bitter hops later, in two distinct waves. I prefer a bit more balance rather than having the dominant flavors separated. Not bad, not outstanding, just solid.

Found this in Wegmans in southeastern Pennsylvania and decided to give it a try. Cool can and nice looking beer. Great citrus smell and taste is light and has citrus notes. This would easily be sessionable. It is missing something at the end. Love the up front hops and smoothness but I am missing the bitterness at the end that I love. Decent IPA / APA but there are others I prefer

12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy glowing golden with a fluffy eggshell white head that falls slowly leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have subtle hints of tropical notes. Some coconut and pineapple. Some floral notes. Crackers and fresh bread. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose for the most part. More hints of pineapple and coconut. Fresh grass is there. Solid hop flavors. Low bitterness. Finishes juicy, but doesn't drink like juice. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate to low carbonation. It's fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.

This is a solid pale ale. It's right in the middle of being an IPA and a pale ale. It's nothing crazy, but it's not bad.

Had this on tap at The Lobby on Araphoe near the stadium while in Denver. I thought the lack if head was disappointing, but otherwise looked and smelled on style. Salt and citrus and late oily bitterness. Quite tasty with the egg and chorizo burrito.

if i see one more beer with juicy or hazy in the name, i am going to smash it with a hammer instead of drinking it. come on guys, find other descriptors please! with that said, i was pretty let down by this beer, i mean, its a fine and easy drinking can of pale ale, but the hop profile seems muted to me, a poor expression of what mosaic really can be, and without any bitterness to help it finish, it lingers a little longer than i want it to, reducing refreshment value. there is a little fruitiness to it though, pineapple and cantaloupe and even lime for a second, but it seems overbalanced by even a minimalist grain base, and washes out a little in the flavor. its not bad at all, its even good when its cold, but it contributes absolutely nothing new, and for the same price i can find 20 better pale ales at most bottle shops these days. epic has been dumbing it down a lot lately in my mind, like, they always used to impress me with their innovation and quality, and since they have been in colorado the beer has been getting safer and less good, at a faster rate recently too. this is drinkable enough but entirely forgettable, i am in no hurry for more.

Poured slightly hazy amber honey with a nice head that left tons of lacing.

Aroma consists of citrus juice and orange peel with lesser notes of tropical fruits and a bit of danky hops. Juicy is a proper description. Also pick up a small bit of bready, toasted biscuit notes.

Taste is a pretty amazing, balanced blend of all the fruitiness and everything from the aroma, full and delicious.

Feel is the lighter side of medium, pretty smooth and creamy, ok carbonation, low and easy bitterness.

Overall, this is an outstanding new APA from Epic, leaning more towards the New England style of super juicy and low bitterness, but there is definitely a great, well-rounded quality to this beer. At $9 a 6-pack, this is a must try.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a 12 fl oz can on April 14, 2018. Brewed with Centennial and Mosaic hops. Nice juicy tropical aromas and flavors. Soft feel.

12 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderately hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, light pepper/pine, wheat, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, wheat, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready, fairly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is an excellent NE APA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish. Nicely soft mouthfeel. Very juicy and fairly dank hops; balanced pale/wheat malt backbone, minimal residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Loved the hop profile as expected of Mosaic/Centennial.

Poured into a cervoise glass.

Look: Very hazy soft burnt orange body with a white foamy head that leaves a tight collar, thin layer of film, and nice random swaths of lacing.

Aroma: A touch of dank hops before grapefruit rind, orange peel, and citrus notes take over.

Taste: Very good start with orange peel, orange pulp, bitter grapefruit flesh, then sweet apricot and mango in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.

Overall: Good balance between citrus juice and a rougher, woody-hop presence.
