Epic Brewing in Salt Lake City offers up their “Hi Calorie” TIPA.
Poured out ice cold from bomber bottle into an oversized snifter.
Deep orange, white head, think Creamsicle.,. foam lingers a little.
Smell is straight up canned apricots in syrup. Different and quite cool.
Taste follows - boozy apricot syrup. I could drink it all day.,.
Finishes thick and really sweet.
Overall, being a fan of Big TIPA, this is on point. I like the boozy atmosphere this one brings, as well as the uniqueness of the apricot flavor profile.
Cool bottle art depicting all sorts of heart attack inducing foods.,.
Epic rarely disappoints.,.

L:. Pours a apricot orange that is not completely clear but I wouldn't call it hazy.

S:. The apricots are very up front, lots of sweet smelling tropical fruit, including some pineapple and mango. Smells quite sweet.

T:. Sugary sweetness, strong apricot flavor. Tropical fruit and a slight tartness from the apricot. No hop bitterness. The sweetness could be toned down here.

F:. Syrupy thick body.

O:. I love the fact that they made a Hi Calorie IPA in response to Lo Cal IPAs, but this one is a touch sweet.
