22 oz rare bottle sent by Hinda65. Prairie Rastal glass.
Pours a nice cocoa brown-to-shiny-black color with a tall beige head of 2 fingers, receding to 1 leaving sheets of lacing on the glass.
Aroma is of old wood, hardware store, slight tobacco, some cocoa-chocolate, slight herbal dill-like hops, vanilla flan, torched sugars, slight coffee, and slight fig.
Flavor brings cola, fudge, smokey peppery wood, vanilla cigar tobacco papers, slight cardboard or humidor, coffee beans, very slight pepper, and cocoa. It's mildly complex but somehow this thing is completely enjoyable and easy to sip.
Feel is creamy and smooth; I feared the worst being a barrel aged porter but it seems to hold its own with thickness and heft; nice boozy dry finish with lingering roastiness and stickiness on the finish.
Overall the word of the day would be enjoyable. It's like smoking a nice cigar. It's not going to blow you away with flavor but its nuances just take you into a deeply contemplative place. Imagine kicking back and smoking with your head up. Really enjoyable. Very nicely executed.
