Handsome light amber brew with fine-grained foam in the tall Timmermans goblet. Wonderful frothy mouthfeel, tangy but not overly acidic. Some astringency in the finish to balance the sweet malt and fruit.
Moderate bitter aftertaste with that odd dark fruity and tarry note. But all very interesting. Whatever the evolution of the "Cold IPA" style, there seem to be more of these mellow but hoppy lighter brews. Perfectly drinkable and appealing. From the 16 oz can purchased in the far Northwest.

first new one ive had from epic in some time, either they have really slowed down with the innovation or the pipeline to boise has dried up. this is real good, nice on tap, lighter than most, cleaner than many, and with less bitterness than the old india pale lagers, this seems to me to be primarily dry hopped, its herbal and super clean, very well made, and a total session beer, refreshing for something this hoppy too, good both cold and warmed up slightly. gorgeous clarity here, a high and airy pure white head, web lacing as i drink on it, rising bubbles, looks delicate and gorgeous. smells like oily orange essence, juniper, and pils type malt, simple and light on the grain side, exceedingly hoppy up front which is cool, and then just snappy and fast to finish, shockingly brisk. lots to like in the flavor, fresh zested lemon first, then some cut pine, grapefruit, and some light oiliness, maybe a little dank, but the back end is crackery cereal malt and a wicked fast finish. i love the hop trajectory, and the high carbonation punctuates it well. one of the better takes on this new style craze thats hitting right now, whats old is new again, and these guys are ahead of just about everyone on it. awesome pint!

On tap in Meridian ID. Pours absolutely clear and very pale straw - looks like a pils. The nose and palate are more lager-like than most of the 'cold' IPA's I've been trying lately...clean and crisp and light. Hops are light too, with some pine and grassy notes, and a mellow but present grainy malt profile and a touch of fruity yeast.
