Received in a trade with @norsemanone ! Pours a beautiful dark brown color with a creamy dense head. Mild roast malt aroma . Sweet upfront followed by a slightly hop bite. Caramel, dark bread notes. Moderate mouthfeel with gentle carbonation. Overall, this is fantastic! Almost reminds me of a Scotch Ale!

I don't think this is an Imperial Red Ale... not really sure what this is. It's good though. I'd say it's kind of a mix of a Wee Heavy with slight Belgian finish. Finish is kind of dry, has faint notes of Belgian candied sugar and licorice. I absolutely hate licorice, and this is good with me. Whatever beer it is, it's definitely enjoyable.

Pint can, straight up.
Appears dark coppery, tan foam peers out the can.
Aroma hits the toffee / caramel malt note with some green grape on the perimeter.
The taste slaps as a 85% Wee Heavy with 15% IPA. Strange as that sounds.,. alcohol is there, sweet finish with a mild hop note.
Mouth is medium heavy, and there’s medium carbonation,
Overall, a fine (and crushable!) ale that kinda defies definition. Nice!

Look: The beer pours a brown hue that's a few shades lighter than Coca-Cola, accompanied by minimal head formation.
Smell: The aroma features malty notes with a subtle metallic undertone.
Taste: Despite being an ale, the flavor profile is surprisingly light. It offers hints of dark malt and molasses but lacks the boldness one might expect. The 9% ABV contributes to a somewhat dry finish, although not as much as anticipated.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation level is on the lower end, even for an ale. However, it's sufficient enough to not interfere with the overall taste.
Overall: This is a commendable higher-end ale with a 9% ABV. It may not be a game-changer, but it's certainly above average in its category.

Dabc purchase - $5, no bottling date, but first appeared this July.
Poured at fridge temp into a snifter glass.
Pours a real dark and deep brandy wine red with a 2F dense tan head. 4.25
Heavy malt and toffee sweetness, some light fruit leather and fruity esters, paired with some soft earthy hops. 4.25
Brilliant toffee and caramel sweetness, fairly strong malts nearing on a roasted level. Fruitiness is low but present and satisfying. 4.25
Low but noticable alcohol warmth, rich velvety body and touch of lingering mouthcoating. 4.5
Overall not sure I'd call this an imperial red, more like a hybrid American/English strong ale (baby Barleywine if you will). But a very enjoyable ale regardless, and one I'm hoping to acquire more of. 4.25
