it was awesome ripping through a number of epic beers recently, i feel like their presence in idaho isnt super strong, so finding a bunch of new ones was lit. this is bold and strong but also pretty modern, super pale on the grain side, even light bodied for its over the top strength, its strong but not overtly boozy as it drinks, and the hops hold back on the bitter side of things despite really being intense in this, interesting proportions, somewhat sweet, quite good, but one to be careful drinking at close to 10% abv. honey colored, some head and bubbles but not crazy heady or active, viscosity doesnt seem crazy for what this is, off clear but still light and bright looking. the aroma is resinous, concentrated, and sweet to me, floral honey meets sticky hash oil and running pine sap. its fresh but without over hopped green harshness, and thats true in the flavor too. i also smell a pretty basic grain composition, almost nothing from the ferment, and its light enough to possibly have some non grain fermentables in here, dextrose or something for a gravity spike. the flavor is sugary most of the way but not to the cloying and annoying (as i call it) level. cooked pineapple, ripe yellow peach, new school sativa, and waxy honeycomb all drip from this, freshness is peak, and bitterness is only at the end. alcohol becomes more of a factor as it warms, there is an almost confectioners sugar thing, and i pick up some spruce, white pine lumber, and navel orange juice in it too. sturdy but fun, i like the hop profile here quite a bit, and it feels like another step toward modernity for epic, who has been moving that way for a little while now. very good.

12 ounce surprisingly undated can from the local state-run liquor store.
Pours deep orange-gold with a fair-enough foam.
Nose hits quick; big aroma replete with a new-to-me combination of can’t quite put my finger on it hops, malt, and floating dank.
Taste too. The hop bill comes off as unique. It rolls along on the palate, full and chewy, juicy, with a pleasant bitterness at the finish. It drinks bigger than its 9% ABV, yet doesn’t come off as ‘hot’.
Mouth is fuller than most DIPAs I’ve experienced, mid carbonation.
Overall, totally enjoyed, maybe a little to thick.

No canning date
Purchased from the brewery cooler for $3
Poured at fridge temp into a fake Pretentious glass
Pours a hazy orange with a light sandy colored head. Lots of visible rising carbo and chunky foam lacing. 4
Aroma is really unique and I'm assuming it's the Amarillo Hopburst, which is the highlight of the beer. Fresh green hemp/grass, and strong juiciness/floral sweet hops, terpene is a new word to me but I think it fully describes this. 4
Really mild piney bitterness and fermented tropical fruit. Simple and delicious. 4
Slight hint of the 9.5%abv, but fades quickly. Low carbo, moderately filling and dynamic lingering hop oil flavors. 4
Overall a really amazing though not sure how WC it is, example of a DIPA. Definitely will buy again because the flavors and aroma were so unique. 4
