Pours a medium gold color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma of oranges and grains. Taste is a tangy orange flavor; kind of sweet. Crisp and dry.

a tasty, non yeast driven wheat beer done with blood oranges and coming in somewhat stronger than these sorts of things generally do, perhaps a middle finger to utah restrictions, but i like it being as sturdy as it is, more wheat flavor and mouthfeel in this than expected then, and plenty of capacity to handle a whole heap of blood orange, this is summery, but its also got four season appeal. a shade or two darker than expected in the glass, rusty to even almost light amber colored, lightly frosted looking, with a seriously high head of tightly packed bubbles, off white, and lasting, looks supercharged, really appealing. the nose is twangy from the citrus addition, a little sweet too, but deeply earthy, with the wheat taking on nutty and toasted qualities even though its not overly rich, its essence is easy to appreciate. the fruit is strong but natural, a light perfume thing to it, but thats what blood oranges can be like, and again, little if anything from the yeast to me, especially when its good and cold. the flavor is similar, this isnt overly complex, up front citrus sweetness, mid palate citrus tang and balancing wheat, late bready character from the grain and acidity from the fruit, refreshing for having this level of structure, and there are undertones of mandarin orange, orange soda, lemon candy, green grape, and some kind of pink taffy or something. not too sweet to be drinkable, soft and expansive on the palate with a ton of bubbles and that wheaty fluff, love how forward the grain is in here to match up to the fruit. it had been way too long since i dipped into new beers from epic, so this was a lot of fun. they should consider keeping this one around...
