Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque in the glass with a one finger khaki head with good retention and slippery lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, maple syrup, vanilla and light cocoa. Flavor is dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, maple syrup and vanilla. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. The usual BBB rich chocolatey malt body, but with the promised maple syrup. Not getting much salt, and hope there isn't much in here, actually. The maple is the big show, although there is a distinct vanilla component too. Maple is deftly handled, and other than being a bit too sweet for me (but not unexpected with the use of maple syrup), but not cloying. Mouth feel and body are a little light, but satisfactory. Another great Baptist variant.
