A thanks goes out to the captain of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can/ Has a bright golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, little else. Taste is of fresh squeezed orange juice, some tangerine notes, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is an enjoyable beer.

I had to take a break from my previously scheduled deep-dive into Barrier's collabs due to yet CANother beer with NO approved pic in place! 8={} One of the main tenets of The CANQuest (tm) is NO Crack!ing open a beer until a pic exists for posterity. I have SO many photos to my credit that I do not mind doing so, but I would really prefer others to join me in taking, resizing & submitting pics. At least it gives me an opportunity to delve deeper into the mysterious Barrier BC.
From the CAN: "Rotational IPA Series"; "Suburb ft. Citra Hops"; "Howdy neighbor, you've made it! You should have joined us years ago. Fresh cut grass is in the air and the cheerleaders are hosting a car wash up the street. I know it's a far cry from the bow ties, beards and beer cans with stickers. But between you and me, outside the Suburb, ain't what it used to be."; "Illustrated by Daniel F. Birch".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This was an insCANce where my efforts paid off as it evinced nice clarity. At the same time, I was forced to back down & off, thanks to the formation of two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention, refusing to fall away to allow me to CANtinue. 8=( Here, it became a game of cat & mouse as I beCAN to be afraid of ruining the clarity. I stopped everything to survey what I had acCANplished. It was a beautiful Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, causing a visit from The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus, my old drinking buddies whom I had not seen for a while. Nose was unquestionably Citra - mostly grapefruit with a hint of orange/tangerine. I liked that they chose to really keep the spotlight on the hops & there was very little malt presence, at least not on the nose. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste closely followed the nose with a burst of grapefruit citrusiness that was actually quite attention-getting, followed by that selfsame orange/tangerine semi-sweetness. It was very bright & refreshing & I was smiling like the butcher's dog! Finish was semi-dry to dry, a really nice way to end. Well done! YMMV.

16oz can served in a pint glass. Dated 1-23-19. Gift from @mr-jj.
Pours moderately hazy light yellow with a big head and lots of carbonation. Smell is tropical and citrusy -- lemon zest and orange rind.
Taste is orange / lemon white, moderate piney bitterness.
Mouthfeel is thick and fluffy. Overall, pretty good beer.

Yellow and hazy - very nice lacing. Pulpy nose of orange and faint yeast dryness. Taste is also very juicy - tangerine- but I could use a little more balancing bitterness or dryness with this guy on the linger. Very nice beer overall

Canned 1/29/19 very fresh to my gullet. Hazy tan orange appearance with great lacing as you swill. Definitely not a punch to the nose with hop presence, but a few sniffs reveal all you need to know. Trending toward more of an Imperial APA, the depth of hops are limited with a nice malt back bone leading to a dryer than bitter finish. Excellent creamy feel. Decent enough, not top tier

16 oz can stamped 10/16/17. Rated to “style” NE style that is.
It is a turbid, hazy, pineapple colored yellow-gold. Big foamy head that leaves a lot of lacing.
It smells like citra hops. Earthy/musty with grapefruit, red berries or pink fruit, and yeast with a crackery pilsner like malt.
It tastes more like sweet passion fruit and pineapple a tea like bitterness and some green leaves. Lingering grains and yeast. The yeast flavor really starts to drown out the flavor.
Body is soft and pillowy. A little bit of a dry finish.
Pretty solid example of the style.

L: A hazy yellow with one and a half finger of head. Planty, plenty of lacing caked to the glass.
S: Grapefruit, orange peel.
T: Follows nose with some pineapple in there. A real citrus bomb.
F: Moderate carbonation, medium body.
O: Very similar to Money which I had recently. No doubt, Barrier makes some of the best IPAs in NY.
