Well, all right! Things are FINALLY back on track WRT my deep-dive into Barrier Brewing Co.! I had initially planned to really get at their many CANlaborations in my backlog for The CANQuest (tm), only to get bogged down at the outset due to many NOT having an approved pic in place. 8=( One of The CANQuest's (tm) main tenets is to NOT Crack! open a CAN without an approved pic in place. Hey, I am capable & happy to do it, but I felt like I was blindsided by the sheer number (& thanks to the Admin team for all of the speedy approvals). Onward!
From the CAN: "Dial HOPS for a good time"; "Brewed with Our Friends Finback brewery"; "India Pale Ale Brewed w/Cryo Hops"; "2x Dry-Hopped with Columbus, Mosaic and Hallertau Blanc"; "Illustrated by Daniel F. Birch".
I Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. My efforts paid off as I was only seeing clarity beneath the two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, tawny head. I backed down & off to watch the head leave nice, sticky lacing in its wake. Color was a gorgeous Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, prompting an impromptu visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus, all desperate for a sip in the age of the COVID-19 epidemic. Once they were satiated, they left me to have a turn since there was nothing on TV to keep them here. Nose was entirely vinous & unless you are into white wine, this may not be your bag. I was getting white grapes, peach, pear, mango, honeydew, guava & papaya! 8=O This was definitely a different version. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was a dry riot of vinous flavors as enumerated on the nose. This was like some of the veddy dry white wines that I tasted out in Cali during my time out there. I don't mind dry, per se, but where was the bitterness? I mean, f'rilz, if I wanted a white wine, I'd buy one. It was tasty, but I was left with an unscratched itch that is my hops jones. Finish was likewise dry, but still unfulfilling. YMMV.

Canned on 8/22/19
Pours a hazy honey gold orange body with a large head of thick, pillowy foam; excellent retention steadily reveals a rocky, soapy cap and plenty of lacing to trickle along the glass.
Aroma is mild with underripe pineapple and dank grass remaining prominent; sharp undertones of red berries and bready spice become defined over time.
Taste follows the aroma, with a mild dose of strawberry cream and tangerine zest as tropical tones come to the forefront into the mid-palate; lemon zest adds a mild tang as a touch of flaked malt rounds out the swallow.
Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation encouraging a consistent, straightforward smoothness across the palate; drying finish with mild bitterness and well-placed malty grit.
All of the elements are here for a good-great IPA, but the end result is splintered enough to where the final product is just ok. An enjoyably eclectic profile of dankness and tropical fruits far too toned down, and leaving me wanting alot more.
